How We Make Money & Independence

The short version

Disclosed Labs earns money from sponsored placements, paid subscriptions, our developer API, and paid compliance scans. We do not earn affiliate or referral commissions on outbound vendor links, and our trust scores are never for sale. No payment of any kind — sponsorship, subscription, API, or scan — is an input to a vendor or lab's trust score.

How we earn revenue

• Sponsored placements: Vendors may pay for a clearly labeled Sponsored slot. Only vendors already graded A or B are eligible, the placement is always labeled as sponsored where it appears, and buying a slot does not change any score.
• Paid subscriptions: Optional subscriptions for individual users who want deeper access to our data.
• Developer API: A free tier plus a paid enterprise tier for programmatic access to our data.
• Compliance scans: A paid, automated marketing-compliance report a vendor can commission for their own site. A paid scan is a private diagnostic and does not affect any public trust score.

What we do not earn

Outbound links to vendor and pharmacy websites are plain links with no affiliate or commission tracking. We do not currently participate in any affiliate, referral, or commission program, and we receive nothing when you click through or make a purchase. We do count outbound clicks in our own analytics so we can understand how the site is used, but that data is first-party and is not tied to any payment from a vendor.

How revenue is kept separate from editorial

We maintain a strict firewall between revenue and editorial content. Specifically:

• Trust scores are calculated from indexed Certificates of Analysis, lab corroboration, and compliance signals. Whether a vendor pays us anything is not an input to the score.
• Price comparison tables show every verified source we have data for and are sorted by per-mg price, never by who pays us.
• Sponsored slots are always labeled, limited to already A/B-graded vendors, and never alter a score, ranking, or inclusion.
• Failed batches from any vendor — including sponsors — are published on our failures page with full lab data.
• Compliance scans are generated by automated pattern matching against live FDA warning-letter data, identically for every site, and never feed the public trust score.

FTC compliance

We label sponsored placements clearly and conspicuously in accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).
