FTPP
Adipotide (FTPP) is a peptide-mimetic designed to selectively bind prohibitin on the vasculature of white adipose tissue and induce apoptosis of fat-supplying capillaries.
Targets prohibitin on adipose endothelial cells; the 'D(KLAKLAK)2' pro-apoptotic motif disrupts mitochondrial membranes, collapsing fat-tissue blood supply and triggering adipocyte loss.
Preclinical obesity studies in rhesus macaques showed significant fat-mass reduction but raised renal-toxicity concerns. No FDA trials. Human use is off-label research only.
