Adamax

Overview

Adamax is a grey-market nootropic peptide developed and sold by the Mexico-based vendor Ceretropic. It is marketed as a Semax derivative: N-acetyl Semax amide (Ac-MEHFPGP-NH2) with an adamantane (adamantyl-glycine) moiety appended at the C-terminus, reportedly intended to improve metabolic stability and blood-brain-barrier penetration. It is NOT an ADNP / NAP / davunetide analog despite some online descriptions conflating it with those compounds. Adamax has no indexed peer-reviewed literature of its own; all claimed effects are extrapolated from Semax data plus anecdotal user reports.

Mechanism of Action

Mechanism is assumed rather than demonstrated. By analogy with the parent peptide Semax (a heptapeptide ACTH(4–10) analog, Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro), Adamax is proposed to modulate BDNF/NGF expression and monoaminergic tone in the CNS. The added adamantane group is presumed to protect against exopeptidase degradation and increase lipophilicity / BBB permeability, but no pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic data specific to Adamax have been published.

Research Summary

No peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed studies exist for Adamax specifically. Evidence base is essentially limited to vendor marketing copy and anecdotal forum reports (e.g., discussions around the original Ceretropic release). Claims of cognitive enhancement, neurogenesis, or neuroprotection are extrapolations from the Semax literature and have NOT been validated for Adamax as a distinct compound. Not FDA-approved. Strictly a grey-market research chemical; safety and efficacy in humans are unknown.
